501c3, if you're washing/reducing your money.

>Income tax strategies—Donations to 501(c)(3) public charities qualify for an itemized deduction from income. Because the tax rate is then applied to a reduced income, this can minimize your overall tax liability. Many donors don't realize that there are many ways to maximize this seemingly straightforward deduction.

also i am by now completely detached from my money, and i wouldnt even know what to do with the profits. alas they are in my books already now. BUT if i sell i would have to pay a shitton of tax which also sucks.

Complete misunderstanding of tax laws. That's not "$45,000 free long term capital gains income" bro, that's the total annual income limit that applies. As in, if you make less than (Tax Year 2024) $47,025 as a Single Filer you get a 0% tax rate for assets sold held longer than 1 year.

they gave me a big pile of meme stock as to keep me at my wagie cage (RSU), as a wagie, i don't stock. I can sell a third of these stocks today but i don't want to sell and see it going up tomorrow, on the other hand, i don't trust the company or market that much and now seems a good moment to sell. Maybe selling and going for something more stable with less gains like S&P? Opinions frens? It's like 25k value today, and i got it for free..
>>
>>58483142
You don't need to sell all of it or keep all of it. You can sell some, put that in low risk things and keep the rest there to see if it keeps going on trend.
>>
I'm new to this
Why is VOO and the like considered a good investment? Its been nothing but growing since like 2010, surely it will dump eventually? Isn't this like buying at ATH now
>>
my position gave back yesterdays juicy pump.

dont mind if its ranging in a higher area.
>>
>>58483197
maybe i could cash some part of it indeed so i also test the process (i'm not even sure how it's done)
>>
>>58483262
if you want to earn extra cash while holding it you could always sell covered calls on your current stocks, that's what I do whenever I want to get out of a big position that is still going up, sell a covered call at my sell target price and then let it ride, it's a bit of a risk though since it locks in the stocks for the duration of the contract
>>
>>58483279

currently at $688 per year divvy payments after 1 yr of investing
we're all gonna make it
>>
>>58483214
Almost everyone with a work retirement plan is blindly pouring money into S&P 500 products every pay period, and if it drops more than like 7% in a day they halt trading and the government starts printing money to prop it up. In dollar terms it's a good investment.
>surely it will dump eventually? Isn't this like buying at ATH now
Probably. Could go up a while before that. If you're sitting on a lot of cash you could put in ~20% and only buy more such that your average entry trails price by 5-10%. Interest rates are high enough that you shouldn't feel the need to panic buy.

While you guys were masturbating to cartoons, I was building an LSTM model on QQQ. I took close price, volume traded, open, high, and low values for every single day going back to 01/14/2016. I threw that shit in my magic 8-ball simulator and asked it for the opening price of QQQ ten times and averaged them together.
Thatt gave me $451.19.
I plan on building price prediction modeling on real-time data once I have the money for it (might be never, since I've been unemployed for ~2 years). Ultimately, I think my model is as unproductive as your goon session, but we'll see. Thanks for reading my blogpost.

FFIE actually looks like a good idea to just ride the meme stock wave. Sale when peak euphoria happens with retail saying how it will replace the global currency. Over 96% shorted last I saw. They say only put in what you are willing to loss, but if this does even half of what gme did I would say the risk is worth it. I hope it dumps for a few more days so my transfer can go through. Would be pissed to buy at 4$ when it's around 1$, maybe sell at 10$ for a 10x. What do you guys think? The market cap is what makes me think it'll pull through when shitty memecoins reach 100 million like nothing.

At least FFIE is heavily shorted compared to GME. GME's pump case was always "squueeezieee" so if anything they should be jumping ship to FFIE.

UK newbie.
How do I get started buying low cost, tax efficient index funds?
I've heard about a "stocks and shares ISA", for example. Is that what I should get? If so how?
Thank you for your help if you can.
>>
finance sector has crazy charts. some from 70s or 80s and only went up mostly. only 08 and 2020 crashes made them dump for awhile
>>
>>58496879
Open an S&S ISA with Vanguard Investor UK. your returns will grow tax free. Then buy VUSA, it tracks the S&P 500 and has a 0.07% fee. Buy as much as you can each month. Don't worry about options, leveraged etfs, individual stocks, unless you want to gamble.

If you're worried about the US economy collapsing (it won't), you could buy the all world fund VWRL, but historically this kind of fund always underperforms the US. If you want less volatility, you could buy a fund that has a mixture of bonds and stocks, like VGLS80A or VGLS60A. This has a higher fee than VUSA and will most likely underperform, but of course that's just a guess.

Read the UK personal finance subreddit's sticky for more detailed advice

I trust 4chan more than Reddit. There's so many shills on there talking about FFIE right now. I believe FFIE is a distraction. I searched and only found 1 thread on /biz/ about FFIE, and it's obviously a jeet thread after reading the typos. I'll stick to GME

Since stocks are market made you pay capital gains if you sell it when the price has gone up.
What if you buy an asset that has a lot of variance in price (say a used graphics card or car) and snipe that low and sell it high because you can market it better than the original seller? Do you pay capital gains on that?

I feel like its a reasonable way to make money off crypto exchanges so that you make gains from the fees as well as cypto going up, its also fairly new and unknown so people have not caught on to it, so likely after people pile in its gonna go up and pay good divies for a while.

Tracking real life events that effect the market. Obviously the native peoples getting disgruntled and blocking the rail ways will have impacts on the market. Is there anyway to get ahead of the market and possibly predict a black swan event?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_2020_Canadian_pipeline_and_railway_protests
There was loads of time to get in the market. Worst case scenario you lose small. Hindsight of course is 20/20.
What if you closely monitored many companies and tried to figure out what their strategic weakness are. What threatens them. Things like large weather events, landslides, etc. etc. and closely watch for those. Perhaps with police scanners and weather maps?

Am I doing compounding value stock picking right? I studied Lynch and various valuation methods for about 48 hours straight and then did this:

- I find stocks with year on year positive revenue/profit growth

- then I make sure they have a Piotroski f-score of 7-9 (backtests show this outperforms s&p500)

- then I make sure they have good Discounted Cash Flow and Peter Lynch Fair Value (stock currently not overpriced)

- Finally I make sure they have a Return on Incremental Invested Capital (ROIIC) that is very good and/or grows as you move from 5y to 3y to 1y

Pic related are my stocks so far while I wait for more cash. They are in transport, packing (cardboard boxes etc), igaming, also bought Chubb and Baidu. Gonna buy some Mastercard also soon. I'm doing coffee can style, just buy and forget unless their fundamentals really change up on me.
