Yeah no shit. If I try to do it with my thumb it will often not register it at all, and if I go slightly too fast it'll register it as being much too slow, causing the ball to hit the ground halfway in front of the pokemon. Framerate also drops a lot when spinning the ball.

Not quite, but I'm down to just slowly clearing out my eggs, only opening the app when one hatches. If a nearby gym has a slot while I'm at it, I throw a shitmon in. Gyms go half-empty and unchallenged for days in my area. Spoofers and other daily raiders drown in golden razz, so it's not really a big deal. If you want to take out a gym effectively, you should use 2 accounts. First battle each of defenders once, then engage the first defender on one account and as you're about to defeat it, start battle on the 2nd account to minimize the time window for defending dudes to react. They get a notification once the defender has lost 2/3 of its HP/CP. So if all of defenders started at full or close to it, only one player will get a notification.
If they golden razz it anyway, just keep engaging the first defender and quitting, rinse and repeat.

So if they're a whale with berries to spend, or if they have multiple accounts, yes they can keep it to the point where it's not viable to take the gym. Cause you're wasting potions and revives attacking the same gym over and over and over. You'll be using up more items than they do.

When that happens, I'd wait 10 minutes then try again. Sometimes they'll think they've won and ignore pogo from that point forward.

Also prep a gym team to take them out as quick as possible.

In the cases of one person stacking a gym with multiple accounts, fight the mons one at a time. ex:
>attack the first one for the first time
>leave the battle
>re-enter the battle
>attack the first one for a second time
>leave the battle
>re-enter the battle
>attack the first one for a third time, knocking it out
>attack the second one for the first time
>lather, rinse, repeat.
It's tedious as fuck but it reduces the chances of their pogo game(s) letting them know one or all of their mons are about to get knocked out.

It's a really broken feature of gym play and niantic needs to fix it. honestly, berries (or more accurately, potions) should only be allowed to be given in person. It also shouldn't take 3 battles to knock a pokemon out of a gym. just have the CP represent how strong the mon you're fighting is and if you beat it once, it's knocked out of the gym. Thus the longer a mon is in a gym, the weaker it is overall.

Also after 24 hours a mon should automatically be removed from a gym. there's no reason why it needs to be in a gym for longer than 8h 20m.
