I thought they were more closely related to hallucigenia than they are to radiodonts? Tardigrades are what you're looking for since opabinia is thought to be decently closely related to them.
>>
>>4805218
yeah they are more closely related to lobopods but they probably still share lots of similarities with other animals of the time because they seem to have retained a lot of features of the common ancestor of all panarthropods
just posted the pic bc it was cool

There's this fountain like picrel at my uncle's house, whenever I visit I always see his cats doing some MASSIVE stretches just to drink out of the falling little stream of water. Brings to mind the countless videos of cats drinking from running faucets, they just love it, and there was also this article of this dude who routinely managed to get his cats past 20 years that said one of the things he does is having a running water source for them to drink out of, as well as home-cooking for them

This is exactly how beavers roll logs downhill to a river during dam-building. They're good at it and get better ... usually. They have been known to kill other beavers that get in the way.

What went so wrong?
>>
>>4804111
American breeders. Prior to their importation they were healthier form wise.
>>
Do NOT look at old pictures of pugs
>>
>>4804111
Same thing that went wrong with a lot of other breeds I guess. Selective breeding for looks and what not. Wonder if they were still as aggressive
>>
>>4805007
Probably not. Inbreeding causes mental issues in humans, I imagine it's similar in other animals. Pitbulls became aggressive schizos while pugs became downies.

I wish I could find a finger leather or kenya tree like that. Right now I have purple(ish) and green ones.

Extremely low ownership, comparatively, some of the faster growing coral can take a year to double in biomass so it's very much not a zoomer game.

Most reef forums are 90% conjecture, 9% testing theories by either outlining ideal testing parameters or actually testing it, 1% actually posting their reef tank(s).
>>
>>4805023
>Extremely low ownershi
Saltwater tanks are popping off in my local area. The shop owner of a LFS said that 90% of the aquariums he sells are saltwater nowadays. Their marine section is even creeping into the old freshwater exhibits.
>>
>>4805043
Really? That's awesome!
Some of my locals, exclusively SW, are even starting to make the heavy lean into their own mariculture and we even saw our first biota stock about 6 months ago (NZ). Yellow tangs pretty cheap at $750. Couple yellow leather even.
Popped into my local LFS that is 99% FW and their SW section, while still importing clowns, a couple foxfaces, the odd nem, they have a new SW display tank but their coral selection is more or less dead. Locally, aiptasia-infested shutdowns aside, leather corals here are dead.
But hey a nice torch! https://easternmarineaquariums.co.nz/products/24k-indo-gold-torch/

So i want to get into chamelons and im wondering about encloseres as i live in a wery cold and arid area of the world i wont be able to keep it in a screen enclosure. so im planing to keep it in a enclosure from this company :
and acording to chamelon academy it should be "fine" but im still wondering if any people here on /an/ have had succes keeping chamelons in a non screen enclosure?
>>
>>4804446
TL;DR it may not be worth the effort

Bacteria flourish in a warm, humid environment with low air flow. Chameleons are delicate little fucks even in ideal circumstances so they REALLY need that airflow to keep their wet, hot enclosures (and then their bodies) from becoming bacterial incubators, which means screen enclosures and probably whole room humidifiers to get the air flowing into the enclosure higher than ambient before the enclosure's humidification bumps it up to a regular amount, all for an EXCEPTIONALLY fragile animal that even in the best of circumstances may end up getting sick and dying from something else anyway because they just DO THAT sometimes.
>>
>>4804797
This. When I was a kid I used to fantasize about owning one of these all the time. Now that I’m older I know I was over my head and it would have been dead within a week tops. Cool as they may be they’re quite the time sink and not really worth it in my opinion
>>
>>4804797
>>4804915
Not OP, but, curious about if using a terrarium that is perfectly sealed and has constantly running electricity for the right conditions could solve that.
