in my experience i can safely say that dealing with animals is like dealing with hobos. they will allow you to get near them as long as you have food or provide shelter, but they don't see you as anything beyond a dumb provider. animals don't give a shit that you care about animals, they won't come to an agreement with you, they will rip each others out for the scraps you give them. and even then, they're still unpredictable and unreliable, and a single bad day can make them sever the "bond" between you and they'll forget about that so fast it's not even funny.considering all this i wonder why people like animals at all, and don't feel surprised at the thought that humans used to consider them as little more than living furniture.
