I feel like some basic, 'quit fuckin moving around while you shoot' advice is warranted. Dial the ISO down because I'll wager that's contributing to your noise.

Maybe have a think about compositions in general. Take photos that are 'zoomed out' and start cropping shit afterwards to achieve better framing, etc.

I was at a cocktail party with Annie Leibovitz and she told me to shut my fat mouth and buy a sony a1, a 35mm f1.4 GM, a 50mm f1.4 GM, and a 135mm f1.8 GM if I wanted professional looking photographs I could use to build a career. Then Hoyte van Hoytema and Nolan spoke up and said “Amen to that, SISTAH!” and chugged their $600 martinis made with single bottle batch vodka from putin’s private stock (he was the bartender btw).

Trust me I drive an audi s8

> only thing separating a d850 and z7ii is autofocus
Lol autofocus on modern cameras are one of the main selling points of cameras. The D850 will literally do better anything a z7ii can do. There’s also F mount lenses that compete with Z mount lenses if you’re a MTF whore lusting after clinical sharpness.

This switch to mirrorless is an evolution, not a revolution.

Pre-summer 2024 edition

All video related questions and discussion is intended for this thread. Here we discuss techniques, gear and anything else related to capturing video footage. Please don't pretend to be an expert if you don't know what you're talking about. Kindly leave your ego at the door.
Posting short films/scripts or other work you've done is encouraged.
We tend to use and recommend DSLRs/mirrorless cameras because they provide phenomenal picture quality for their price, have large sensors (ie the same size used in high-end cinema cameras and higher) and have interchangeable lenses.
In contrast, consumer camcorders often have much smaller sensors and a fixed lens.

So if you are a run and gun documtary film maker who doesn’t work with a crew you don’t really need a cinema camera. You could get away with a mirrorless camera. You only really need a cinema camera if you work with a larger crew. I thought that a cinema camera had nice things like SDI ports rather then HDMI ports and XML audio jacks rather then 3.5” audio jacks ; now I take it their is a lot more to it.

How is the quality of my video stream? It's a bird nest livestream. Using a gx85 and been tweaking the broadcast settings to see what kind of quality to expect.

Pretty sure at this point I am limited by my max upload bitrate, capture card, and camera (to a small extent)

desu, it how it came out of scanning, with B&W I prefer to adjust the contrast via dev, the only thing that I usually add in digital post its a bit of exposure sometimes.

Out of the box, smartphone photos will fail no matter what. They give you a 'processed' look like they are upscaled, oversharpened, some haloing, and pixels are not really pixels but more chunky looking. Once you zoom past 1.0x, it is a complete disaster. Smartphone cameras rely on you viewing them on smartphone displays or anything that is physically small with high DPI where you will not see the faults with a naked eye (ie social media).

I did a torture test shot here not using the stock camera app, it bypasses the smartphone chunky bullshit and I tried to retain as much distant detail as possible. On a regular iPhone or Android camera app, the mail box and road sign would turn into mush.

Your camera specs are shit but that doesn't inherently make your photos shit. That's on you if true. Do some research on photography. Get a better grasp of how one works, or at the very least the important aspects and creative styles associated with it.

You will be limited in your creative ability with your digishit, but don't worry about that. Go take some fucking photos that aren't just "look at muh car" or "haha cat". Think about what you're taking a photo of. Consider angles and light. It can get very fucking complicated, but honestly my friend, just try and take photos of things you enjoy.

I started shooting on a similar camera to yours, mostly because I was a tight-ass (still am) who didn't know better. Yeah, can't do super low-light photography, or fancy bokeh shit, but bro it churns out 4k res photos with decent processing into easily shared JPEGs. You've got convenience.

>there's more to photography than image quality and you don't need to spend over 1000 dollars for a camera. people buy dedicated cameras because they don't want their photos to look like wide angle overprocessed hdr slop with no shadows and want have more control than what the stupid fucking computer thinks instagram faggots want.
>and read a book.
You're arguing with retards.
To be fair to them, i do not know how good are cheap NIGGOR F lens wide open, but i know the EF 50mm f/1.8 and an entry level EOS DSLR blow the absolute living shit out of any phone in everything the 80mm equivalent can do, and whoever says otherwise doesn't know how to use a camera or take photos.
Also they can't read a book, they can only hear what the youtuber tells them to consoom
