Most fun weapon in Chivalry 2. It feels so fluid and satisfying. Though you probably won't be topping the board in TO as the slash damage is subpar, the survivability this thing gives you in 1vX is insane, and it's bonkers in 1v1. About the only thing that flat out sucks is the special attack. How does the Mordhau longsword compare to it?

Opposite braking was something I found myself using in a recent playthrough of Wipeout Fusion when trying to take corners as close to the inside as possible, sometimes I find myself doing it in BallisticNG but the effect isn't really the same.

As BNG is very wipeout 3 based for its physics i'm not convinced it is of much use any more. When the game leant more to wipeout 2097 physics in the early days where the ships are less rigid and turned more akin to a power boat than a plane opposite braking is fantastic for reigning in the drifting inherent to that physics model.Protonic got a huge amount of use out of it before it was tweaked and probably does still now.

Then there's many things where the mechanics aren't fundamentally the same such as no body blocking that just make me feel like I'm playing a worse game. ss14 would have to introduce some fucking amazing unique features and even while some are cool there's no in depth modes or features from what I always hear. I've been playing /vg/station a bit recently and I think I'll stick with what works, I'd even try some of the ss13 different distros before touching 14

So even if you lose but you did put up a good fight you could gain some encouraging experience. There's nothing worse than spending 30 mins in heated battle with several close calls to end up losing a good match and only gaining that tiny little baby dick chunk of exp. It's seriously fucking discouraging. Even the matches where you have a great crew and it seems like you did nothing wrong in the fight and should have won except the other team had laggers and lagged themselves onboard despite guards on the ladders or someone on your crew gets longbearded or alabasterbearded or ddos'd off and you sink. Then to rub it all in your face just a bit more you see the pitiful experience you just gained after waiting 20 mins for a match and fighting for a half hour. I played 5 or 6 matches in about 3 hours on a G&G weekend 1 win 5 loses, didn't even gain a full level. That didn't leave me with much of a desire to continue playing. Everyone else in the crew quit too. It just feels like a complete waste of time.
