Why does every GMC and Ford EV cost over a hundred thousand dollars when Tesla can scrape against $30k?

Is it worth spending 40k for a Toyota that is slow, reliable, comfy, and boring?
>>27678612That's a good thing. The Camry is a great car.
>>27678612>>27678784It's not a like the camry tho performance wise or mileage. Even the Hybrid is worse. It's more on par with the Crown. Interior wise it's like a mix of latest Crown / older Camry. Looks way better than a Crown from the outside tho by a mile. No idea how the two compare in comfort of the ride, that would probably be the real deciding factor. or just go with a fully upgraded Camry XSE or XLE, in fact that's probably the better route. Get all the bells and whistles, nicer trims to match and way better mileage.
40k? I'm a thousand Sons man myself
>>27678586No. For 40k you could get a nice 80's toyota.
I love the idea of theseIt's got a stupid iPad dash thoOtherwise, I'd buy it over some German plastic fantastic thing
which one? No other brands, please, I’m an europoor, stuff like Flex and Rigid doesn’t exist here.
>>27677384>Why would anybody mislead and lie on the internet? Why do you think the 3.0CP packs are so much larger than the 2.0 packs?kek I didn't even have to tell you that you're wrong, the poster under you did it for meyour tools look brand new, you're a little bitch who does a few brake jobs a year and nothing more, rigid is the perfect brand to go with for a little bitch who does nothing like youmeanwhile I'm out here doing LS swaps, diesel swaps, body swaps on cars, 4wd conversions, custom fabrication and welding, and I use Milwaukee because they have the best selection of tools that just workyour tools look like you've used them one fucking time on some light duty shit and you're going on about how durable they are, you're a fucking pathetic joke dude lmao
>>27677904This is the type of person who brags about having 15 cars in their front lawn. >2.5/5Do they even make the 3.0Ah 3-cell pack anymore? They probably had to discontinue the thing after realizing what a horrible idea was just like when they tried to lower the parts count in the 2767 Fuel impact and they were all breaking. You’re probably buying NOS if you find one in a kit.
>>27666567>costs just as much as any of the major brands Wrong.>Horrible customer service and warranty 5 year warranty no questions asked. Swap it out for a new one in store. No sending it off and waiting and all that bullshit.
Kek @ number of filtered out postsGood job OP
>>27678420>Do they even make the 3.0Ah 3-cell pack anymore?Yes retard, they do, and yes this is the automotive board made for people who own 15 cars and decent tools Your tools have zero use on them because you don’t do shit except the occasional brake job or some shit
2010 Town Car with 90k miles. This has to be a granny driven car, right?
>>27679317Yeah but I'm guessing these cars are usually driven by people who take care of them, like boomers with money.
>>27679327I personally wouldn't touch it with a 20' pole but you do you anon. It's ugly as fuck and not old enough to be cool
>>27679339Spoken like someone who has never taken a ride in one.
>>27679352What kind of argument is that? I can be comfier in something older and cooler that isn't some busted piece of shit late 2000's ford.
>>27679314They call it the Town Car 'cause it's got it's own zip code.
I spot 1 of these near-every single day at worst, and often a handful or more at best.Supposedly the 1.6's had shittier engines but most 1.4's are still going strong.
>>27678497Huh, so Peugeot has made reliable cars in the past? Explains why there are so many old ones running around here, too.I think their more recent small engines use an EcoBoost-style wet belt that can go bad within 40k miles if it doesn't like the oil (or whatever else the engine's leaked into it).Suppose a belt can be very quiet and efficient like that, until something very noisy and inefficient happens.
>>27678556yeah retarded emission standards are responsible for so many horrible engines it's fucking criminal at this point
>>27678543I always cringed at these until I saw one with the most based custom exhaust and spoiler setup imageable. It sounds and looked like a gag but you could see that the owner was 100% genuine about it.
>>27678497Later model Twingos. Early ones have almost all died of terminal rust, but I still see plenty of facelifted ones trucking around.
>>27678727Twingo looks based
Is this the last "I don't care it'll get me there" car you can buy? >2017->2019 Escape S>2.5l port injection NA 4 cylinder>traditional automatic>no touch screen>very modern so no worries of old seals, pipes, wires >no weeb taxI know crossovers aren't popular and I know the fusion has the same drivetrain but honestly if you can get a better seating position and a hatchback for about the same price then why not?
>>27678785This. I'm hoping they hit a huge depreciation on the pre owned market, looking to get one next year after leases are up
>>27678785>>27678814Why?
>>27678785> 137 hp and 162 lb-ft torque>1.2Tlmao
>>27678736The CX5 is superior in every way. It’s basically of that but with direct injection and Japanese workmenship.
>>27679219>but with direct injection Which is exactly why it's worse
So I am in the market of car since I decided to gift my old corolla to my mother. Fuck if this is not the worst car market in, probably, ever. Prices of used cars are insane and new ones are not much better but they do make sense from a value standpoint. So after doing my research and a couple of test drives I am down to these 4 offerings that are generally within my budget of 25k.>Suzuki Vitara mhev(1.4lt 130ps)(new)This is the cheapest option.Did a test drive. Not bad driving dynamics, comfortable suspension. Got offered sticker price with some "free" addons for the mid tier trim. Service and parts are cheap and it comes with a 5year/100k km warranty. They don't seem to depreciate much too.>Hyundai i30 fastback MY2024 mhev(1.5lt 160ps)(new)Test drive went okay. Kinda stiff suspension, certainly more fun to drive than the Vitara. Generally better equipped even though its the entry level trim. More expensive as well. The offer was 250euroshekels below MSRP but still the second most expensive option at 24k. 5 year/unlimited mileage warranty.>Nissan Juke hybrid(1.5lt 141ps)(new)The only reason I am even considering this is because the dealers seem to run some promo right now and they advertise it at well bellow msrp. Even then it still stretches my budget at 25,5k euroshekels. Comes with the most equipment out of all the other options. From what I read online they seem to be just ok but the hybrid system is said to be second only to Toyotas and with petrol prices being near the 2euro/lt that is definitely something to consider. 3 years / 100k klm warranty.>Toyota Corolla Sedan hybrid(1.8lt 122ps)(used)Well its a Toyota. It drives fine but it feels really slow. I am not crazy with the CVT that many toyotafags claim its magic, but Toyota also claims insane mileage and very low CO2 emissions which mean very low or 0 road tax as well. I can get a decent 2-3yo with about 50k klm entry/mid trim for about the price of the new Vitara.
>>27673736What you don't mention in your OP is whether you can charge the hybrids at home. Discounting that I'd probably choose the Suzi, then Corolla, Hundy, Juke last. Suzuki's have low service and repair costs.
>>27678531>What you don't mention in your OP is whether you can charge the hybrids at home.Because they are all self-charging hybrids?>Discounting that I'd probably choose the Suzi, then Corolla, Hundy, Juke last. I will probably drop the juke. I really dislike these over-stylized cuckovers. I find the juke less offensive than the likes of C-HR but still. The only reason I was considering it was because it is a "cheap" hybrid but I really doubt if it could actually ever cover the 2-3k difference in cost in fuel savings. The Yaris-Cross would be a more appropriate option, since a poverty spec one is cheaper than the juke and within my price range. I don't really like their 3-potter and it kinda feels slower than the Corolla.
The answer is a Fiesta ST
>>27673736Have you considered a Citroen C3 / C3 Aircross? Based on all the hybrids, it seems like you want good fuel economy. The C3 was available with 1.5 dci until a couple years ago, and the C3 Aircross is still available new with the diesel. The 1.2L petrol isn't a bad engine either. The interiors are really nice, and I think the exterior styling is alright too. Only downside on the C3 is that they try to nickel and dime you on options. It's less of an issue for the C3 Aircross. Jeremy Clarkson likes the Aircross. It can tow a 13,000 ton boat: https://yewtu.be/watch?v=c6N-zitUQ3M
>>27678921Lol no it isn't. Not only is it no longer offered new, but used ones are very expensive too.>>27679079I find the "new" citroen look abhorrent. I know it's a subjective thing. Plus if I am to spent my money on a horrible cuckover I would like to, at least, not feed the monstrosity that is stellantis. Now, I am aware that the french are the only ones offering diesel engines in affordable prices. I was looking into a Clio, even though its smaller than I 'd like with the 1.5 blue dCi. It handled surprisingly bad, I remember that Clios used to be some of the best handling budget cars you could get aside maybe a swift. They seem to have cheapened out in both brakes and suspension.
I know nothing about specific cars, only about minor maintenance such as changing out tubes, pumps, and easier access parts when neededWhat's a cheap, compact suv I can get that is easier to maintain, that has the POTENTIAL(very hypothetical) for cross country driving and MINOR trail capability that would be willing to last a good part of a decade, granted I take care of it regularlyOr do I just use the money to put a camper shell on my automatic 2wd 93' nissan hardbody?
>>27677858Just search "camper shell" or "truck topper" etc on craigslist/facebook marketplace etc and you'll find plenty. Ideally add your model of truck to get a more exact fit, and measure your bed + ask the seller for detailed pictures. Hardbody exact fit toppers are going to be harder to find than, say, Ranger exact fit toppers, but the dimensions might be close enough to make it work. Make the bed frame and whatever else you want to put in there yourself.
>>27677934I mean I'm getting a shell either way but I still need an alternative vehicle in case something happens to my hardbody, as well and something that can carry more than two people
>>27677762sell your automatic hardbody and get a manual one
>>27677800>(You) cant have one BTWWhy isn't it possible

is it worth putting this shit on my pleather seats? they arent dirty or cracked, but i would like to do some preventive maintenance on them, just not sure if its worth spending $20 shekels on this or if its just snake oil and wont do anything
>>27677893Not that guy but you dont wanna use any finishes on rubber floor mats or the pedals. Thats just asking for a shit your pants situation. Then youll need to clean your car all over again
>>27672872yes put dish soap on your interior, that totally wont fuck everything up
>>27678495To chime in, dish soap will fuck up certain plastics. I recently had an issue where my door handle was sticky so I tried wiping it with dish soap and it literally fucking dissolved.
