Mang that feeling is absolutely incredible. Everything is so nice and smooth. The size is just perfect.
A shame I'll probably never experience such a major upgrade again. It looks like phones are reaching a plateau and won't get much better except in the gaming department maybe (which idc about).

Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad T, X, and W/P Series if you want the Real Business Experience™
>Other business laptops are welcome in /tpg/ (Dell Latitude/Precision, HP EliteBook/ZBook)

Why ThinkPad?
>Used machines are plentiful and cheap
>Excellent keyboards, tactile feel and quiet
>Great durability: magnesium roll cage for structural integrity, with high quality plastic body panels
>Utilitarian design: e.g. indicator LEDs, 7 row keyboard layout on older models
>Docking stations that easily turns your laptop into a desktop
>Easy to repair (most models), upgrade & maintain thanks to readily available service manuals for every model, spare parts easy & cheap to obtain
>Excellent Linux & *BSD support

I know that the OP state that I should stick to ThinkPad T / Latitude / EliteBook but what's your opinion on ThinkPad E, ThinkPad L, and ProBook ? Latitude 3xxx are fine (I don't much Dell in France) ?
I have a ProBook and I can clearly see the difference with an HP 250 but I don't see a difference with my coworker EliteBook.
I just need something robust, I don't need a lot of power.

>>

>ray tracing is a meme
Ray tracing is fine ... the way NVIDIA goes about it sucks. It's "tesselate everything" all over again, poorly spend resources used just to leverage some specialized hardware with more time spend bribing devs than getting the best visuals.
>>
Raytracing is cool and neat but hardware is still several decades behind where it needs to be.
>>
>>100539921
>hardware is still several decades behind where it needs to be.
Not really, you could replace the entire rasterization pipeline with raytracing right now. Facebook did it with a CPU+GPU hybrid rendering engine before RTX existed.

Doing bidirectional path tracing for GI, that's going to take a while. So for now, use hacks (and please don't use RTXGI, it's trash).

that entirely depends on how fucked your brain is from using react and its retarded way of doing things
vue is very easy to pick up, its docs are great and it's nice to use. the downside is that the IDE support is substantially worse

I've had it with all the annoying ads and tracking done by meta and x. Every time I turn around, it feels like I'm being watched or bombarded with ads.

So, I looked for a new platform that actually respects privacy. And guess what? I finally found one. It's called @Tweeter. Yeah, I know it sounds like a clone, but trust me, it's not.

@Tweeter is a weird but surprisingly good app. It lets you have private or public conversations without worrying about being tracked. Plus, they've got games where you can play old games like snake and stuff. Well at least it doesnt spy on me 24/7.

Here is the link if you want to check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scriptiez.tweeter

Here's a recap of finalized FRs I have for what I have tested so far, done without a pinna or full-seal conditions (eg blu-tack) . The sound quality post-treatment is very good, and is surprisingly competent despite the significant issues that come with earbuds. Most of the tested ones show significant resonances that are undamped which need to be fixed with EQ.
Any modifications should be done after having determined what the earbud fit, angle, and sound is in your own ears.

honestly, im going to move back to FVWM after seeing >>100525035 because the page scroll feature looks so nice, and my bar is simpler now so it wont be too much of a annoyance with FvwmButtons; but, ive had a good experience with awesomewm so far. window manager isnt really that important to me but i found configuring wibar/wibox to be way easier than the shit i was doing with fvwm. i WISH fvwm had https://awesomewm.org/doc/api/classes/awful.widget.watch.html this, i was doing super hacky shit to try to get a functioning notification notice in bar lmao. while i think FVWM flips from being extremely intuitive to annoying dsl shit there is a consistent level of annoyingness and difficulty in AWM and needing to navigate lua is kind of a headache for simple stuff even just changing wallpaper. i think i eventually want to move back to FVWM since i want to do a config in fennel(lisp language that can be used in place of lua) but that pagescroll feature was enough to get me to switch back lol.

>General
The purpose of this thread is to discuss Maid Computers.

>What is a Maid Computer?
A Maid Computer is a highly mobile computer which can be used while standing or walking, without peripherals or special furniture, which can run compilers locally and has a physical keyboard and is small enough to fit in the standard apron of a maid outfit.

>Are Maid Computers just UMPCs?
A Maid Computer can be a UMPC, but UMPCs aren't necessarily all Maid Computers. A Steam Deck for example, is a UMPC, but not a Maid Computer, because the designers failed to give it a physical keyboard.

>Official Dra/g/on Maid Board Maidposting Guide
Please be polite when posting on the Dra/g/on Maid Board. Be nice to other maids and attach an image of your favorite maid to each post where you do not need the image field for something else (a process traditionally known as maidposting).

>Thread Open Discussion Topic
Discuss what Maid Computers you have and how you use them. Discuss high-end Maid Computers. Is there a manufacturer better than GPD? What Maid Computers do you want and how will you use them?
