I recognize there was a lot of executive meddling and the way Disney treated the show was far from great but in the end the execution leaves me thinking I wouldn't have liked the show even without the censorship, especially since so many people loved it even in its very butchered state. It's too bad, because I really loved Willow. The show also has fantastic MILF designs in Eda, Odalia, and Lillith but I found Eda and Odalia lackluster in application, their voices were all wrong. Like, I get Eda was cursed to look much older but she also acted like an old woman and had a 70 year old's voice, it makes her being the younger sister very hard to believe. And then with Odalia I just heard Hayley Smith the whole time, which really doesn't make me think "evil elitist woman". I just found the voice, design, and even behavior incongruent with what the character was actually supposed to be. Like, its still baffling to me Lilith was supposed to be the older sister jealous of her younger sister and not other way around (younger jealous of oldest). And since I'm very into older women finding out the old woman I got into the show for was really only like 40 kind of soured the whole thing for me. Like, 40's fine, that's still older than me by quite a bit but its not what I wanted or expected from Eda's voice and design.

The old critique of Angry, Stupid and Mediocre holds true even more today than it did in the 1930's and 40's. And where that one was directed at three different cartoons, this cartoon has managed to do all three at once. As always, censorship kills talent and quality.
